Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery is following government guidance on social distancing and is now closed to the public until further notice.
However, we will still be engaging online using the #MuseumsFromHome hashtag and posting pictures of our collection over social media. All links to our social media pages can be found at the bottom of this page.
We have created a Blackburn Museum YouTube page and are adding short films of the museum and art gallery, collections and educational films based around our education learning sessions.
We are also updating our blog several times a week and are currently focusing on the HOLDING the VISION:
Collecting the Art of the Book In the Industrial North West exhibition.
The museum front of house team along with our mascot, Baxter the Badger’s help, are currently working to create a series of Get Crafty activities for children to complete whilst at home. These are some of the activities that you would normally have the opportunity to complete whilst visiting the Museum. These are accessible for SEND, infant and junior aged children.
Our Get Crafty at Home page is now up and running, we will be uploading new content each week so remember to keep checking in with us to see what is new.
