The Friends of Blackburn Museum monthly talk
Contemporary Art at Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery
A talk by the Museum’s Art Curator Stephanie Seville
Between 1952 and 1979 Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery received a number of works of contemporary art via the Contemporary Art Society. Many of the artists are represented in national collections such as the Tate. Artists include William Coldstream, Albert Irvin and Brynhild Parker. This talk introduces this collection of contemporary art, little seen in the museum and explores how the museum could display it in the future.
The talk will last approximately one hour and refreshments will be served after the talk. For further information on The Friends of Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery click here.
