Houdini – A talk by Dr Roger Woods, President of the Modern Mystic League.

(Blackburn and District Society of Magicians)

In October, 1902 the famous escapologist Harry Houdini faced one of his greatest challenges at The Palace Theatre, Blackburn when William Hope Hodgson, the owner of a popular physical education school in the town, fastened him in a unique combination of locks, chains and handcuffs from which he did not expect Houdini to escape.

The fascinating story of that amazing challenge and the protagonists is presented by Dr Roger Woods, President of The Modern Mystic League (Blackburn and District Society of Magicians), who has been researching the tale for over forty years.

The talk will last approximatly one hour and refreshments will be served after the talk.
