Annual David Shipway Lecture

Dr Paul Salveson will talk on What did the railways ever do for us?. This is a free public lecture sponsored by the Friends and open to all. No booking is required. Dr Salveson is Visiting Professor at Greater Manchester University following a career in the railway industry. His fields of interest, on which he has written a number of books, include social, industrial and political history, Lancashire dialect and railway history.
