Looking for something creative to do with the kids this Summer? We’ve got a whole week of FREE, family-friendly workshops and activities for all ages!

What’s on:
Tuesday 21st, Wednesday 22nd, Thursday 23rd July (12-3PM)
Printmaking with Print, Paint, Pixel
Day 1, 21st July – Design your own museum trading card inspired by our incredible collections!
Day 2, 22nd July – Have a go at Lego block printing
Day 3, 23rd July – Come have a go making your own prints using our 152 year old Columbian Printing Press! Inspired by our collections and current exhibitions.

Tuesday 28th, Wednesday 29th, Thursday 30th July (12-3PM)
Join local artist Saima Hussain
Day 1, 28th July 2026 – Japanese prints & dragon inspired mini terracotta pots.  Decorate small terracotta pots with simple Japanese-inspired designs featuring leaves, vines, florals and dragons using acrylic paint and additional materials.
Day 2, 29th July 2026 – Botanical and animal ink print wooden coasters . Design your own wooden coaster by rolling black ink and using a selection of animal, floral and butterfly stamps.
Day 3, 30th July 2026 – Clay animal tiles Get hands-on with air-dry clay as you roll, shape and design your own square tile. On top of the tile, use unicorn and animal stamps & cutters (including cats, owls and more), then add extra details with clay tools to create a unique handmade piece.

Bugs with Sophie Tyrrell
Join artist Sophie Tyrrell for these drop in workshops inspired by our creepy crawly collections!

Abstract Arabic Calligraphy with Hafifa Ahmed
Join artist Hafifa Ahmed for a calming, creative workshop exploring the shapes and rhythm of Arabic letters.

Tuesday 18th, Wednesday 19th, Thursday 20th August (12-3PM)
Roman Coin Portraits with Cath Ford
Inspired by the coins from the Hart Collection, make a coin badge with your own portrait on it (either drawn or a photograph) and maybe even a few words that sum you up.

Tuesday 25th, Wednesday 26th, Thursday 27th August (12-3PM)
Drop in workshops with local artist Fawziyah Raja, inspired by our collections!

ALL WEEK (11AM–4PM)
Drop in for our ‘Get Crafty’ and museum activities inspired by our incredible exhibitions and collections!
