Bollywood Poster from the collection at Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery
Celebrating Bollywood!
Bollywood is the popular name for Hindi cinema, a blend of ‘Hollywood’ and ‘Bombay’ (Mumbai). Bollywood forms part of the larger Indian cinema industry, which produces over 1000 films a year, making it the world’s largest global film industry.
In celebration of Bollywood’s two momentous wins at the 2023 Academy Awards, staff and two Blackburn Bollywood fans have selected their favourite film posters from our Bollywood Poster Collection to mark the occasion.
With thanks to: Samah Khan, Mohammed Khan, Sajda Khan and Tahira Khan
