ART OPEN 2026
Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery is excited to be holding its fourth ART OPEN!
In March 2026 we put out an open call to all artists, amateur and professional, to get ready to submit their work for what promises to be an exciting and diverse art show.
The Art Open exhibition will run until 16th May 2026, and will be open 11 AM – 4.45 PM, Tuesday -Saturday. The Friends of Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery are supporting this event and members have been helping with the administration of entries.
We are happy to announce the Judges’ Choice winners. On this year’s judging panel, we had: Artist Zara Saghir, Dr Cynthia Johnston, and our very own Curator of Art, Anthea Purkis!
1st Place: ‘That Dark Night’ by Lisa O’Loughlin
2nd Place: ‘Gone Fishin” by Ren Richardson
3rd Place: ‘Bedside’ by Madeleine Emmerton
