Infinite Hands

Infinite Hands by Art in Manufacturing artist Nehal Aamir created for the Festival of Making 2024 will be on display until the 14th of September.

The contemporary 11-metre ceramic tapestry recognises the dedication and skill of the workforce at Darwen Terracotta, whilst also taking inspiration from Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery’s collection and the first exhibition held in its Watercolour Gallery in the 1800s.

It tells a story that interweaves the history of terracotta, a spirit of collaboration, and the vibrant culture of Blackburn.

Infinite Hands was commissioned by the National Festival of Making as part of their headline commissioning programme Art in Manufacturing.
